2021 Top Performers : Newberry Team Camp
The future in the 2021 class in the Palmetto State is very promising. Prep Hoops has seen all these kids before today at the Newberry Team Camp.
Ralph Holmes – North Charleston HS (pictured on front)
Holmes 6’3 was knocking down shots from deep range today for the Cougars. Holmes was a late season call up for the Cougars last season and this season look for him to be a major factor in Head Coach Chris Brown lineup. Holmes has great elevation on his shot and seems to have no conscience from shooting the ball from 25 feet on the floor.
Janyle Pittman – Lancaster HS
Pittman is a physical specimen for such a young age. Pittman has great bounce and a even better motor while on the floor. Pittman finished strong around the cup on several occasions today and extended the defense out to 3 point range with some of his shooting.
Omazeon Tinsley – Lancaster HS
Tinsley is a table setter for the scrappy and tough minded Bruins squad. Tinsley penetrates-kicks and finds the open man every time down the floor. Tinsley 5’7 we first saw a year ago playing with then Team United.
Jasean Morris – Dreher HS (Columbia)
Morris has a lot of talent but just needs to figure some things out at times. Morris bounced around with the varsity and jayvee team today here at the Newberry Camp. Morris sat out last year after transferring from AC Flora HS. Morris has great length but still needs to finish better on contact. Morris 6’6 runs the floor but at times takes plays off.
Tyreik Priestley – Newberry HS
Priestley we first saw play at the Upward Center a year ago with the Carolina Cavaliers. Priestley 6’7 moves around the floor very well and stays active. Priestley should see some minutes this season for Head Coach and the Bulldogs basketball team. Priestley is still raw offensively and tends to be a bit better on the defensive end at the current time.
Pittman, Tinsley, Morris and Priestley all play AAU with Upward Stars Southeast 2021.
Prep Hoops was hoping to see Greenville Tech play but the Warriors were playing short-handed with just 5 players when we caught them in action.
