Metro State Camp- Most Improved Players
June is that time of the year where AAU comes to a pause for a couple of weeks as players go back to play with their high school teams as well as various camps. With this article we breakdown one of the best camp events which was held at Metro State that had plenty of big name schools and players in attendance. Here’s who stood out.
Isaiah Jamison- Rangeview
Isaiah is a player that works extremely hard and that’s why we’re seeing him progress. He’s been on JV these last two years and has shown nothing but progression to start this summer and this weekend. He plays aggressive, tough nosed defense and is also relaxed and patient with the ball on offense which allows opposing players to have to adjust to his playing style.
TJ Bamba-Lincoln
TJ showed an all-around and mature game this past weekend which is great to see as he struggled a bit last season as his team didn’t have much success. He was very active on the defensive end and forced plenty of bad shots as well as had a few open court steals that led to easy transition baskets.
Jake Chrisman-Yuma
Jake Chrisman has always been force in the paint on both ends of the floor. Only difference now is he has experience to go along with it to put together his strongest season yet. As he continues to get more comfortable with the mid-range shot and knocking those down consistently, he will only be that much more difficult to guard.
Mervielle Mugisha- Thomas Jefferson
Mervielle is kid that will throw a wrench in a lot of teams defensive plans next season with the way that he plays. He’s a microwave on the offensive end and a spark plug as when others may become tired or struggle to score he continues to keep it going. One of the other things great about him is he can play off-ball as well and uses his high IQ to get easy baskets at the rim.
Malik Patton -George Washington
Missing last season has Malik on a path to show how much of a big time player he really can be. Acting as a anchor on defense as he changes many shots at the rim as well as having active hands in passing lanes it’s easy to see him stand out this upcoming year. His offensive game has also grown as he’s now starting to excel with his back to the basket.
Dalton Knecht-Prairie View
Dalton is a very undervalued player that has shown consistent growth over the last three years. With this being his senior year he has a ton of ground to make up and he’ll have the keys to the offense and there should be very high expectations. He’s not only a great outside shooter, but he knows his go use his body well and finish amongst the bigs at the rim.
