Recruiting Report: Josh Jeziorski (2019)
Perham/Minnesota Comets skilled forward Josh Jeziorski takes a lot of pride in wearing the Perham jersey. Josh has been a part of 56 Yellowjackets wins in his two varsity years, and only four losses.
“Representing the Yellowjackets means more to me than anything,” Josh said. “Our team will be stronger, more physical, and hard working next year. We will push past all of the difficulties as a team along with get to that state tournament and make some noise. People will step up and need to take rolls which I and my coach know they will do.”
Perham brings back their top two scorers and five of their top eight guys in the rotation from last winter so expectations will be high. Jeziorski and fellow senior-to-be Jenson Beachy both are playing with Comets DLR this 17u season meaning they are competing in the NY2LA Basketball League as well as other events.
“Playing AAU not only makes better practice but makes you a more physical and well rounded basketball player,” Josh explained. “My top moments for AAU would have to be getting the opportunity to play more basketball and improving my game every chance I get. Seeing all of the coaches there, dunks, deep threes, all things that make me happy seeing.”
Comets DLR has played 26 games so far this with varying results. The bottom line though is the team has played tough competition and the players are getting better.
“Our team this year has its ups and downs, but at the end we are starting to figure it out and play as a team. What I hope we continue to do is win games, and play together as one.”
And every game played on the 17u circuit is against another top player that is also working hard to get better. Playing at this level shows players what they need to work on to get ready for the future.
“Before senior year starts what I would like to improve on is getting stronger and being able to drive through the lane and finish through contact,” Josh said. “Having the ability to do that will not only make my game stronger but will give me the ability shoot and drive.”
At 6-foot-4 playing on the wing Josh is able to shoot the ball with consistency as well as use the dribble to create using his agile physical ability. Josh mentioned four schools that are showing the most interest at this stage in his basketball career.
“Schools that have been in contact with me are Jamestown, St Cloud State, St. John’s, Hamline, and some other division three schools,” Josh said. “I have visits and camps coming up and an official visit on June 12th with Jamestown and a basketball camp with St Cloud State in the middle of June. Hopefully with this summer and next school season coming up I will receive more invites to visit campus’s and go to camps.”
