Spring Stock Risers: 2020 Class
The top players in the 2020 class are starting to make their marks after their sophomore seasons and the first halves of their 16u AAU seasons. There are two players in the class holding D1 scholarship offers right now and there could be more by the end of the July recruiting period. Here’s a look at some of the young men who have made strong impressions since the end of their sophomore high school seasons.
Kenny White, Madisonville – North Hopkins – White is a versatile forward who can play any spot on the floor with success. Kenny is 6’7, long and athletic and has earned the praise of multiple national scouts while playing up on the 17u level with Hoop Dreams AAU. While Kenny hasn’t yet earned a college offer, it likely won’t be long if he continues performing at a high level.
Dayvion McKnight, Collins – Dayvion is a do it all point guard who plays with one of the best motors you’ll see at any level. McKnight has continued his stellar high school season into a successful spring with MATTS Mustangs 16u. Dayvion was offered by Winthrop last month and could see more offers in June as Collins will camp at WKU, NKU and Morehead.
Eli Roberts, Manual – Roberts has looked the part of a potential D1 recruit since I first saw him as a 9th grader but has never shown the motor of a college player at any level. That appears to be changing. Roberts has flashed his potential as an inside-outside threat while playing 16u and 17u with the Louisville Legends. This July could be the chance Roberts needs to start catching the eyes of the college coaches.
Dallas Rufus, Waggener – Roberts’ teammate with the Legends, Dallas has had a stellar spring of AAU. Rufus has shown more consistency as a scoring threat and has proved his ability to play the point guard spot as both a facilitator and scorer.
Brayden Sebastian, Garrard County – Sebastian has had a stellar spring with ICE out of Lexington. He’s had several high scoring games and is frequently in double figures with his rebounding. As he becomes more consistent and less of a volume shooter, his stock is only going to go up.
Tyren Moore, Male – Moore has had a great spring with the Louisville Magic 16u. Moore runs the show as the team’s point guard and has hit a bunch of 3s over the course of the spring. Tyren will only continue to improve as he improves his body and gets a little quicker of a first step so that he can get by athletic point guards.
