Bracy’s Skills Summer Showcase: Class of 2021 Standouts
Sunday June 3rd North Bay Area Trainer Brandon Bracy put on his Summer Showcase at American Canyon High School. The showcase was filled with talent from around the area from Class of 2022, all the way up to 2019. The players were able to compete against each other, go through fundamental skill work, strength and conditioning, and gain valuable knowledge about their approach to the game. The freshmen class was very deep at the showcase as there were talent across the board.
Lucky Hampton – Salesian HS SG 6′ 2
Hampton is a very smooth player who has good length. He showcased his ability to finish left, right, shoot from the outside, and is an underrated passer. His motor will need to improve as he looks to take that next step in becoming that next level player but he has all of the intangibles of being good.
Gabe Patrick – St. Patrick-St. Vincent HS SG 6’3
Patrick was very impressive at the showcase as he does an excellent job at creating his own shot. He is very long and athletic, and he attacks the rim well. Patrick has potential to be a solid defender causing deflections and even blocking shots. His court vision will need to improve as he looks to become a point guard but he is extremely talented.
Mike Anderson – Jesse Bethel HS PG 5’11
Anderson was one of the most underrated players at the showcase. He is more athletic than he looks, he jumps well, plays solid on-ball defense, and has good footwork. Once he improves his ability to shoot from the outside he will be a dangerous player as he gets older.
Matthew Elliott – Jesse Bethel HS SG 5’11
Elliott shot the ball extremely well from the outside. He moved really well without the ball, he didn’t take bad shots, and he did a good job of utilizing the pump fake to get open. Great shooters have the ability to get open and knockdown open looks and that is what Elliott did at the showcase. His ball handling will need to improve if he wants to become an elite player in the future but he had a good showing on Sunday.
Donte Searcy – Berkeley HS PG 5’11
Searcy is a big guard and does a good job utilizing his body to get to where he wants to go on the court. He attacks the basket well and he has a solid mid-range game. Searcy will need to improve his lateral quickness once he gets to the next level.
Raider Paja – St. Patrick-St. Vincent HS PG 5’10
Paja has a good motor and plays hard every possession. He has good moves to the basket, runs the floor well, and shoots the ball fairly descent. Once he improves his defense and is ability to finish at the rim through contact he will be a nice under the radar prospect in the north Bay Area.
Jammoni Simon – De Anza HS PG 5’4
Simon plays the game with a lot of heart and passion. He battles with being the smallest guy on the court but he has really good court vision, he can shoot from the outside, and he is the ultimate team player. High character point guard that can boost the energy of any team.
Iman Burch – Mare Island Tech Academy PG 5’6
Burch is a tough point guard who defends well. He is a tough competitor and is always looking for ways to improve. Burch will need to continue to improve his jump-shot as he gets ready for high school season.
