2020 PG Stock Risers
What 2020 point guards have made the biggest leap in the latest rankings? We dive into that here!
Marcus Watson (Morgan Park)
Previous Ranking: #19
Current Ranking: #7
Watson is a lefty that helped lead Morgan Park to another state championship. Boosted his stock with his play in the second half of the season and that continued over into the spring with the Mac Irvin Fire. Watson has been one of the most consistent performers for the Fire on the circuit with his speed, vision, scoring, and maybe most importantly his defense.
Ray’Sean Taylor (Collinsville)
Previous Ranking: #81
Current Ranking: #22
Taylor was a prospect that intrigued us as a freshman, but we were unable to see during his sophomore year. We evaluated him this spring with Gateway Illinois and came away extremely impressed. The combo guard can really score it. He broke out at the Arch Elite Classic getting buckets in a variety of ways while also getting his teammates involved.
Beau Frericks (Cary Grove)
Previous Ranking: NR
Current Ranking: #47
Frericks made noise at the Battle at the Lakes midway through the spring. With Team RWA the Cary Grove guard shot lights out from the perimeter. He plays with a high basketball IQ and is a crisp passer.
Luke Scheffers (St. Charles North)
Previous Ranking: #79
Current Ranking: #51
Scheffers is a lead guard that plays the game with creativity. He has put that on display this spring for Fundamental U. The 16U guard has run show for his squad getting his team into their offense, finding hot scorers in spots where they can operate, and scoring with a nice pull up jump shot.
Reginald Fisher (Bogan)
Previous Ranking: NR
Current Ranking: #56
Fisher is a new name that emerged on our radar at Nike EYBL playing for the Mac Irvin Fire 16U. This 6’0” combo guard is a long and rangy prospect that brings athleticism to the table along with shot making. He drilled an array of threes and mid-range jumpers at the event. Showed some passing feel driving and kicking to teammates. Active on ball defender.
