Prospect Profile: Blake Lambert (2020 Life Christian HS/Oregon Basketball Club 16U)
When you’re 5-foot-4, 125-pounds, it’s easy to get overlooked – especially on the basketball floor. But it would be a mistake to look past Blake Lambert. The fiery point guard from Life Christian High School in Aloha can simply play – and he backs down from no one no matter what size they are.
“Being a small guy just kind of motivates me to go at them,” Lambert said. “They’re always calling me small so it gives me motivation.
Lambert was impressive at The Hoop Memorial Day Classic in the 16U division for Oregon Basketball Club. He took the ball strong to the basket and was able to finish over bigger players. And on defense, you could count on him to really get in the grill of opposing guards.
“My shot hasn’t been falling much but I’ve been in the gym trying to get it back,” Lambert said. “But I’ve had good energy, pushing the ball, and my passing has been on point.”
Lambert understands that playing on the AAU circuit helps with exposure and the opportunity of college interest. He’s got two years to go but he does have some goals. “I’m hoping right now to get an offer and get some colleges looking at me,” Lambert said. “I want somewhere where they want me and I can get some minutes. This summer my goal is to get at least one scholarship offer and try to win some tournaments.”
