Intro: Ashawn Burbridge (2021)
Class of 2021 power forward Ashawn Burbridge is a 6’4” post from Joliet West that has broad shoulders, length, and projectability where he should grow significantly more. The first thing that stands out is how well he rebounds the basketball. He is a beast with his ability to high point and just having an overall feel for where it is coming off the glass. Finishes well around the hoop converting and-1 opportunities. He passes it extremely well on the interior dishing off quick passes for buckets. Touch on short jumpers. Shot blocking presence as well. If this kid grows he could be a force!
We spoke to Burbridge about his spring with the Illinois T-Wolves 15U where he broke out late.
“The spring has been tough, but we are pulling through and winning some games.”
How has it gone from an individual standpoint?
“I have been playing good. A lot of finishes, rebounds, blocks, and passes.”
Burbridge broke down the strengths of his game.
“I think I play intense and play good defense. I finish good.”
Look for him to be a contributor on varsity next season as a sophomore!
