Prospect Spotlight: Dallin Hall (2020)
A month ago, Fremont’s 6-foot-2 point guard Dallin Hall received his first D1 offer, and it could be the first on many to trickle in over the next year-plus for the rising junior.
Utah Valley offered Hall, and it’s his penchant for dime’ing teammates, along with a silky stroke from deep that makes him most intriguing.
“For high school, I need to be more of a scorer, but my main talent is that I see the floor really well and I find open guys and try and create for my teammates,” said Hall. “That’s what I’ve done since I was a little kid, was try and find the open guy and create for my teammates.”
After spending his freshman season with Lone Peak, Hall spent this past winter playing his first season with Fremont. He averaged 17 points per game as a sophomore with the Silver Wolves.
“I came in and the guys were really accepting, they were awesome. And even though I was a sophomore, I kind of had to take on a leadership role,” said Hall. “And I played with a great group of guys and they pushed me everyday.”
Now, the heady floor general is playing 16U ball with Exum Elite, one of the nation’s best AAU units. They qualified for the adidas Gauntlet finale in New York, which will be played July 12-15.
“It’s been great, I love playing out of state and seeing the other talent, and seeing where I stand against them. Trent Whiting is a great coach, he’s good for us,” said Hall.
The Utah Valley offer was humbling for Hall, and he had nothing but positive things to say about the school and the program.
“Their coaching staff is an amazing group of guys, and I was very grateful to have received that offer from them,” said Hall.
BYU, Utah and Oregon State have been talking to him a little bit. Hall says his goal is to go out there, win games, and the rest of the recruitment should fall into place.
“My main goal is for our team to win as many games as possible. I just want to show everyone what I can do, play to my full potential and hopefully some scouts like my game,” said Hall.
“Especially for the adidas Gauntlet finale in New York, that’ll be a fun one.”
