Michigan Playmakers 17u Win Playmakers Summer Invite
RECAP
The 8th Annual Playmakers Summer Invite took place last weekend. The 17u field was extremely talented and the competition was intense. The Michigan Playmakers showed up with plans on competing for a championship. They battled their way through a difficult schedule, eventually earning the Playmakers Summer Invite 17u title.
The Michigan Playmakers had a 6-0 record at the event. They used a staunch defensive performance to lead them to wins all weekend. The Playmakers only allowed an average of 47.8 points per game throughout the event. In the championship game, they were trailing by 14 at the half. The Michigan Playmakers buckled down in the second half only allowing 11 points in the final stanza. Offensively, they showed off their firepower by shooting a very high percentage from beyond the three point line.
The Michigan Playmakers were led by star performances in the Playmaker Summer Invite. Steve Pearson, John Massey, and Rayvon Williamson played consistently well all weekend. The Playmakers were also led by solid performances from Wendell Green Jr., Cameron McEvans, Ken Thomas, Dreyon O’Neal, Justin Rukat, and Trevian Puriefoy. The team continues to show that it has an exceptional level of depth and talent.

Trevian Puriefoy led the team with 14 points and a big dunk all in the second half. Jordan Whitford sank the game wining free throws with 5 seconds left.
