Small College Prospects List
Hoke County HS Junior Guard Elijah Harris: With the graduation of Guards Dakari Johnson and Jaleel Ray, he will be called on to step up in his role. He can shoot the ball from deep, handle pressure well and defend at a solid rate, schools such as NC Wesleyan have already begun to take interest.
EE Smith Junior Guard Chris Jordan: Each year he has continued to improve, he can score the ball at a nice rate by slashing to the basket but also knocking down outside shots. D3, NAIA programs should both be keeping an eye on him, he may not be the tallest guard but he’s talented and plays the game with confidence, there is a lot to like about what he brings to the team.
Fayetteville Academy Junior Guard EJ Bethea: He has improved since the last time we saw him during the season, he is playing the game with more strength and converting plays through contact. He can shoot the deep ball, has improved his athletic ability and his ballhandling is looking much better, at 6’2 ish with a long wingspan, he may be up for another growth spurt so he will be one to keep an eye on for his senior season.
71st HS Junior Guard Demauriea Nickelson: This upcoming school year will be his make or break season, he didn’t get as much of an opportunity last season but from what we have seen in the spring and summer, he can be a nice D2 level player if he puts in the work.
Pine Forest HS Junior Guard Adrian Elliot: His size at 5’9 is one of the things that keeps him from being a more highly recruited player, skill wise he can play with a high level of talent. He can score the ball at a nice rate, plays the game with toughness and doesn’t back down from challenges, he will be looked upon to lead the Trojans next year without a doubt.
Cape Fear HS Unsigned Senior Guard Kevin McLaughlin: A smaller guard that can score the ball at a high level, he is the type of player that D3 and NAIA programs could use as a nice pickup late in the game. One of the leading scorers in the County , facing difficult defenses is nothing new to him.
Terry Sanford HS Unsigned Senior Forward Gabe Harbison: D3 programs have been on him at a pretty high rate and D2’s have shown some interest, we feel like the D3 programs would be a great fit for him as well as the program. He has been coached well over the years at Terry Sanford and we have seen him improve in a nice way, once he gets into the right college program, we feel like he can excel on and off the court.
