Palmetto State Point Guards: 2021 Class
Prep Hoops will be putting out its new rankings next week and we will take a closer look into the 2021 class. The 2021 class in the Palmetto State is loaded with talent. Prep Hoops has had over a year to watch this class play as freshmen. Lets take look at some of the top point guards (no order at all here) in this article.
Jalen Braezealle – Greenville Tech – Carolina Wolves 17U (pictured on front)
Braezealle 5’9 is playing up with the Carolina Wolves 17U team. Prep Hoops first saw Braezealle play at Greenville Tech as a 8th grader. Braezealle played last AAU season with the Karolina Khaos.
DaVeon Thomas – Lee Central HS (Bishopville) – Upward Stars Southeast 2020
Thomas ran the show this past season for the Stallions and Head Coach Laverne Knox. Thomas 6’0 could possibly join up with 7’2 (8th grader) Travon Pearson next season in Bishopville.
Denham Wojcik – Porter Gaud – TMP 17U
Wojcik is the son of a college basketball coach and it shows. Wojcik is as tough a they come and he just wins. Wojcik has won 2 3A SCISA State Championships and plays up in AAU a few age brackets.
Jacobi Wright – York Prep – Team CP3 15U
Wright 5’11 was a solid player this past season for York Prep. York Prep looks to be having a complete overhaul for next season and it will be interesting to see if Wright stays on board with new head coach Larry Davis.
Tyler Rice – Ridge View HS – Team Loaded North Carolina
Rice joined Team Loaded North Carolina after playing AAU with Central Carolina Force. Rice saw some minutes this past season for the 4A State Champions.
Marshall Myers – Cheraw HS – Team Wall Southeast Marion 2021
Myers 5’10 averaged 13.5 ppg last season for the Braves on the hardwood. Myers will have a new Head Coach in Rob Mammes this coming season.
James Lovorn – TL Hanna HS – Team South Carolina
Lovorn is a crafty floor general from the Upstate and teams up with shooting guard Bryce McGowens in the Team South Carolina backcourt for Head Coach Mike Alexander.
