EYBL Hampton Friday Standouts
HAMPTON, VA — Session 4 of the EYBL got underway with some 16U and 15U action at the Boo Williams Sportsplex on Friday night. Here we recap the day with a closer look at some of the standouts.
TERRENCE BUTLER | 15U TEAM TAKEOVER
Terrence Butler was a standout on both ends of the floor. The 6-foot-7 forward, who actively contested shots at the rim, was always in proper help side position. Butler also demonstrated nice touch from the middle areas of the floor and scored it with his back to the basket.
ELIJAH HUTCHINS EVERETT | 16U NJ PLAYAZ
7 footer Elijah Hutchins Everett showcased a nice touch from the perimeter on Friday night. Despite his team’s loss, he finished with a game-high 22 points and hit three triples in the second half.
AVERY FORD | 15U TEAM TAKEOVER
Avery Ford is one of the best defensive prospects in Virginia’s 2021 class. The 6-foot-6 forward is a good shot blocker who positions himself well in help side situations.
RICHIE GREAVES | 16U NY RENS
Richie Greaves was one of the best shooters we saw on Friday. The class of 2020 point guard from Rutgers Prep showed that he can run a team and get others involved as well.
JALEN HALL | 15U TEAM DURANT
We saw the clutch gene come out of Jalen Hall on Friday night. The young lead guard out of DeMatha connected on a three-point jumper with under 15 seconds left to give his team a 3 point lead and help them pick up an important win vs. Team Takeover.
DONOVAHN KEYES | 15U TEAM DURANT
Donovahn Keyes got out to a hot start on Friday night, connecting on jumpers from three and the middle areas of the floor. The 2021 guard out of Archbishop Carroll is a skilled scorer with deep range who can create space for his shot.
DARIUS MADDOX | 16U TEAM DURANT
Darius Maddox scored a team-high 15 points for Team Durant in their double digit win over the NJ Playaz. The explosive 6-foot-4 scoring guard puts the ball in the basket from all over the court with relative ease.
ERIK REYNOLDS | 15U TEAM TAKEOVER
Erik Reynolds is really trending up this spring. The 6-foot-3 lead guard has some wiggle to him, and his middle game is very good. We saw Reynolds hit a number of floaters and tough layups in traffic on Friday night.
JAKAI ROBINSON | 15U TEAM DURANT
Jakai Robinson was probably the best prospect on the floor in Team Durant’s win over Team Takeover, and he played like it. The 6-foot-5 southpaw was a mismatch problem on the wing, where he attacked the basket consistently but also shot it well from the perimeter.
LANCE WARE | 16U NY RENS
Rens 16s throttled Rose City Rebels, and Lance Ware was the main standout. The 6-foot-9 lefty was a tough cover given his ability to stretch the floor and mix it up off the bounce.
