Show Me Showdown: Illinois Preview
This weekend is the Show Me Showdown in St. Louis! PrepHoopsIllinois will have tons of coverage of the Illinois prospects in the house! Here we take a look at some of the intriguing prospects at the 16U and 17U levels!
17U
SF Greg Outlaw (Chicago Select)
Outlaw has had a breakout spring. The Bogan 2019 small forward is a strong and freakish athlete on the wing that impacts the game with his motor.
C Taeyon Neal (Chicago Select)
Neal is a big bodied post that carves out space on the interior. Quality area rebounder. His size is what makes him intriguing.
PG Damari Nixon (Chicago Select)
Nixon is a lefty point guard from Fenwick that has dynamic playmaking ability. He is a sound jump shooter and solid on ball defender.
PG Bryce Bultman (Illinois Bears)
Bultman is a jumbo point guard at 6’5” with an excellent feel for the game. High IQ guard that sees the floor making great passes and can score it as well.
SF Landon Wolfe (Illinois Bears)
Special appearance from this Effingham top 30 prospect returning to his old Bears squad. With the Illinois Irish off this weekend he will be pairing with his former running mate Bultman again!
SF Keith Kiner (Illinois Bears)
Kiner took his game to another level last week at the Arch Elite Classic. We look forward to seeing if the high motor wing can do it again.
SF Jeremiah Hernandez (Young & Reckless Denard)
Hernandez is a top 15 prospect in the 2019 class with his smooth offensive game and ability to score it from multiple levels.
PG Chris Roberts (Young & Reckless Parham)
Roberts can flat out go! He has tremendous speed in the open floor pushing it going coast to coast on a regular basis!
16U
PF Seryee Lewis (Young & Reckless Boateng)
Lewis has had a breakout spring. He is starting to make the jump from prospect to player with his athleticism around the hoop.
PG Reggie Strong (Young & Reckless Boateng)
Strong is a top 10 prospect in 2020 from Farragut. The lefty is a slick ball handler that can score and get after it on D.
SF Kee Hargrow (Young & Reckless Brown)
Hargrow will be one of the prospects we watch closely this weekend. He struggled as a sophomore at Joliet Central, but has all the physical tools and athleticism along with an emerging perimeter game.
SG Carson Parker (Illinois Bears)
Parker is a skilled wing from Nashville that broke out during the second half of the high school season. He has continued that momentum into the fall.
PG Caleb Zurliene (Illinois Bears)
Zurliene is a smooth southern Illinois point guard that can both distribute and picks his spots to score it.
