Prospect Spotlight: Korin Bradley (2020)
I’ve been watching Gainesville High rising junior Korin Bradley play for the last two years, or so. I can honestly say that in each game I’ve sat through, he showed his growth. Catching him at the Stampede Shootout was no different.
Korin’s hands are much quicker than one summer ago. He was able to get a few swipe-aways with ease against solid ball-handlers. Korin can rise above the rest to swat shots. His lead passes are on-target. When in-transition, he can thread the needle with a tough pass those who are attacking the rim.
As far as scoring goes, Korin has shown that he can finish with contact at the cup, and holds a quick first-step. Leave him with space, and Korin will stroke the three-ball, as well.
Korin credits a Gainesville hoops trainer for the continuous progression.
“I’ve been in the gym consistently working on the three ball, finishing with contact,” Bradley said. “Coach Ron Ray has really progressed my three ball, and has helped me get to the hole, more effectively.”
The biggest summer goal of Korin’s is to use this AAU season to learn as much as he possibly can, while being able to figure out how to get his teammates more involved & get the most out of the group.
Who gave hime that idea? The play of Collin Sexton.
“He has a dog mentality, he doesn’t care about the noise. He’s definitely a team player, to me,” Bradley said.
As for his upcoming high school year with the Hurricanes, shaking off the nail-biting loss to Choctaw in the Regional Final and going farther in 2019 is priority #1.
“We have to work harder in the offseason,” Bradley said of the steps the team needs to take to make a deeper playoff run. “We have to play defense, and execute better than we did last year.”
