Prospect Spotlight: Salle Wilson (2020)
The class of 2020 in Louisiana has continued to break out throughout the spring and expect that to continue into the summer. Salle Wilson is a 6’4 wing that has shown the ability to score the ball from every level which continues to impress on the Adidas Gauntlet Circuit.
Wilson has a penchant for being in the right place at the right time on the defensive end with the physical frame to defend multiple positions. He had this to say in regards to the first two live periods, “I played well; my offensive game wasn’t my best, however my defensive game was strong and consistent. Did not shoot it as well as I wanted to, but I played hard and made plays for my team.”
That team mindset is what helped Dunham to an LHSAA Division III State Championship. Salle was a key contributor and named to the All-District team after averaging a double double throughout the season.
“This season was crazy, but I enjoyed every step of it. I was hurt during the beginning and it was tough to sit there and watch my brothers knowing I couldn’t help them. Once everybody was healthy, everything fell in place and worked like I thought it would.”
Consistency from beyond the arc and his body are the two biggest areas Salle is working on this summer but he would like to improve his ball handling as well. He has already begun getting college looks as an athlete who has played against high level competition both during school ball and on circuits during the summer.
“For as high school ball, during June, I’m looking forward to coming out and becoming one of the key leaders on the team so that we can get ready for the upcoming season and try to claim another state championship. During the July live periods, I plan to get better as an individual and to get more schools to look at me which will lead to offers.”
