Recruiting Report: JR Cison (2019)
Class of 2019 point guard JR Cison is a tough and competitive lead guard that knows how to run the show. The Lake Zurich floor general does a nice job of getting everyone involved. Crisp passer that works well in the pick and roll game. He pushes it in transition. Cison is a sound jump shooter that can connect on an array from mid-range and three point shots. D2’s should monitor him in July.
Cison spoke about his first season at Zurich.
“It started off pretty well. Then I had a rough patch in the middle. Toward the end I think I was playing my basketball. I had a nice playoff run. I made it back to the super sections at the Sears Center. It was fun because we finally came together and could do what we were meant to do. We showed how good we could be and it was fun to do it in front of my hometown.”
Where did he improve the most during the season?
“I feel like shooting a lot. I worked really hard on my shot and feel it is starting to come together. Playmaking and playing a true point guard. Learning how to play point guard.”
The Fundamental U 16U point guard spoke about his game.
“Pass first point guard that takes care of the ball really well. Nice pull up and can hit open threes.”
Recruiting wise right now he is hearing from D3 programs Augustana, Carthage, Rochester, and more. Quincy and Illinois Benedictine have also been in contact.
