Recruiting Report: Cadyn Schwabe (2019)
Three sport standout Cadyn Schwabe of Thompson has also found time to compete with North Dakota Attack this spring. PHD pulled Cadyn from his busy schedule to talk a little hoops today.
Schwabe is a 5-foto-10, 165 pound guard from Thompson High School where he plays baseball, basketball, and football. Thompson High School is one of the more well regarded Class B programs in North Dakota and Cadyn fell the season went solid.
“Our high school went pretty well as far as winning games,” Schwabe said. “We still fell short of our ultimate goal in making a state tournament. I think I got more familiar with guys on my team on the court and we learned to work together.”
Schwabe scored 15.4 points per game with five assists, 2.5 rebounds, and a pair of steals averaged per contest. He was a 51 percent shooter from the field and 77 percent shooter from the foul line for the 19-5 Tommies. The 1,000 point scorer is now competing with a solid Attack team that has played in three events already and will compete in the ECI Spring Preview this weekend.
“Our year has went pretty well so far and it’s been a lot of fun,” Cadyn said. “We have been in most of the games and have competed pretty well. We obviously want to win as much games as we can, but the big thing is just improving as players and having fun playing basketball.”
The Attack is 8-6 so far on the year with a real chance to improve that record this weekend while competing with ECI for event gold. Along the way Cadyn wants to improve so he can have a big senior year.
“I want to be able to score a few more ways and be a more consistent outside shooter, as well as improve my ball handling.”
College sports? Oh yes. Cadyn is a pitcher and infielder for a 13-1 baseball team and he was the quarterback for the 7-3 Thompson football team. He will be playing college sports somewhere, in some sport.
“Yes I have been in contact with some coaches. I am still unsure on which sport I want to try and play in college so I am just trying to stay as open as possible and see what happens.”
