Question & Answer: Lorenzo Wright (2020)
A quick point guard who can handle the ball and play strong defense is a very valuable player to have. Lorenzo Wright is that player. The 5’10” point guard from the class of 2020 has been making some noise this spring. Wright has been playing AAU basketball with the XMen. He is currently attending Ypsilanti High School, but will be at Belleville High School next year. We recently caught up with Lorenzo Wright to talk about last high school season, AAU basketball, and him as a player.
Question: What do you think is the biggest strength of your game?
Lorenzo Wright: Mid range, creating my shot, and my defense.
Question: How do you feel about you and your high school teams performance last season?
Lorenzo Wright: We had a good season finish 16-3, I have no regrets.
Question: What part of your game do you feel really developed over the high school season?
Lorenzo Wright: I feel like I got better on getting my team involved more and that helped us a lot.
Question: What are your basketball goals this spring and summer?
Lorenzo Wright: Getting offers and have a breakout summer with my new team.
Question: Is there an event you are really looking forward to?
Lorenzo Wright: I am looking forward to summer league with my new team (Belleville).
Question: Who is the best player you have ever matched up against?
Lorenzo Wright: Jalen Terry.
Question: What do you like the most about AAU/travel season?
Lorenzo Wright: I like how I can play different people around the world and play against a lot of competition.
Question: What professional player do you think your game resembles?
Lorenzo Wright: Kyle Lowry.
Question: What is the next step in basketball for you?
Lorenzo Wright: Win States and improving my game.
Question: What is your most memorable moment in basketball?
Lorenzo Wright: Playing against Lincoln this year.
