Recruiting Report: Ian Anderson (2019)
Ian Anderson, a class of 2019 forward at Potomac Falls, is really coming into his own this spring on the AAU circuit with LBA Attack. His recruitment has picked up as a result, and he has begun to field a lot more interest in recent months.
“I’ve gotten invites to camps from schools like UPenn, Lafayette, Bucknell, a couple mid majors, and a lot of d2, d3 schools,” Anderson stated. “I visited Franklin and Marshall in April. In the next couple of weeks I should be going down to Randolph Macon and CNU.”
Versatility is Anderson’s biggest asset as a player, and this applies to both ends of the floor. He can defend big men and guards. Anderson has also worked to become an inside out scoring threat, and he says since his 37 point performance in the conference championship, his confidence has skyrocketed.
“It’s about having fun for me. Playing with my guys who I’ve been playing with since third or fourth grade. Trying to make sure everyone gets theirs,” Anderson said of his final AAU experience. “My goals are to constantly improve. Getting better. Getting stronger, and improving my conditioning.”
How does Anderson see himself fitting in at the next level?
“I see myself being a player that can do whatever he’s called on to do. So if my role on the team is to rebound and play defense, I’ll do that to the best of my ability. If I’m called on to be the leading scorer, I’ll try to get to the basket as much as possible.”
Ian Anderson is ranked by Prep Hoops as a top-75 prospect in his class. To view the full ranking of Virginia’s 2019 class, click here.
