Recruiting Report: Chris Hodges (2021)
Schaumburg 2021 post Chris Hodges is a big and physical center that snatches rebounds in traffic. Excellent area rebounder. Assertive on the glass. Showed more mobility than we have seen in the past out of him especially working in the pick and roll this spring with the Illinois Wolves. D1 prospect and top post in the 2021 class.
As a first year high school player he started for Schaumburg and averaged 10 points and 8 boards a game.
“Freshman year went really well. It is something to build on next year. I think we are going to be dominant next season.”
Where has he seen the biggest improvement in his game over the last year?
“I have improved on my footwork and defense. Attacking the basket off the dribble.”
A pair of Big 10 programs have been in to see Hodges.
“Illinois and Michigan have both come into watch me in open gym.”
What stand out about Illinois?
“Illinois is close to home. It is a really nice atmosphere. I can connect with the coaches really well.”
Michigan is another program that has been in to visit the 2021 post.
“It is the same offense we run in high school so it would be easy to pick up.”
Hodges is open to visiting any school that is showing significant interest. He took a trip to see Illinois over the weekend. Holds an offer from DePaul.
