Prospect Intro: Kadyn Lowe (2021)
Kadyn Lowe is looking to make an impact in the 4th region in his sophomore season. Lowe didn’t see any varsity playing time as a freshman at Franklin-Simpson but is hoping to work his way into the spotlight for the Wildcats next season. Lowe is a heady point guard who finishes at the rim when he’s not dishing out assists. Kadyn starred at the freshman and JV levels this past season but has high hopes for his sophomore campaign. Here’s what the point guard had to say about his freshman season and hopes for the future.
PHKY: Describe your game for people who may never have seen you play. What are your strengths? What do you need to improve?
KL: I’m a physical guard that is looking to pass first. I like to get my teammates involved but can score when needed. Driving the ball is a strength of mine and I’m an excellent passer. I think I’m great in the pick and roll can facilitate for others on the floor. My biggest area for improvement is that my jump shot needs to become more consistent.
PHKY: Reflect on your high school season. Were you happy with your individual performance? Were you happy with your team results?
KL: I was proud of my high school season. I was happy with my individual results on the freshman and JV teams but not with my freshman team results. My JV team went 13-2 and I played a big role in that. Although I didn’t see much varsity action this season, I look forward to contributing to my team this season.
PHKY: Who are you playing AAU with? What are your expectations for your AAU season both as an individual and as a team?
KL: This AAU season so far I’m playing with my local city team called One Team One Dream. Currently I’m looking for an AAU program that will help me develop my game and bring me exposure to college coaches and scouts.
PHKY: What can you take from your AAU season and apply to your next high school season?
KL: I’ve learned to be more aggressive and go score and take control of the game. That will help me take on more of a scoring role with my high school team next season.
PHKY: What are your goals for your next high school season?
KL: My goals for next high school season are to play a major role in the success of my varsity team and just let my game mature.
Lowe will look to make major strides over the course of the spring and summer to prepare for the upcoming high school season. Franklin-Simpson struggled in the first season without UAB bound Tavin Lovan so Lowe figures to have plenty of opportunity to see the floor for the Wildcats next season and start to make his mark in the fourth region over the next three years.
