EYBL Atlanta Standouts Part 2
Lakepoint Sports Academy in Emerson, Georgia was the host of the 2018 Nike EYBL Session 3 for the 2nd year in a row. Nike EYBL this weekend featured almost half of the top nationally known prospects regardless of class. With only one session left, in Hampton, VA during memorial day weekend, there will be several tough and close matchups. There’s always plenty of talent and competition when evaluating an EYBL session but below I have my personal top 5 standouts. NOTE: This is just part two of my Nike EYBL Atlanta standouts.

2019 point guard Kira Lewis – Hazel (AL)/Georgia Stars (GA)
Not enough credit has been given to the rising senior Kira Lewis in this year’s EYBL. Sitting at the point guard position in the EYBL and playing behind top ranked 2019 point guards in Cole Anthony, Jalen Lecque, Tre Mann, and more already in this summer, it is a difficult situation for Mr. Lewis. But do not worry Kira, your skills have not been unoticed. Kira came into the Atlanta session leading his GA stars team in scoring. Lewis had a phenomenal weekend this past weekend in Atlanta averaging 20.5 points per game. He is a score first point guard that can shoot the rock and also attack his man off the dribble. He is an extremely fast guard that can change speeds in transition. He can also create plays for his teammates and distibute the rock. Kira is one the top underrated prospects in the class of 2019. He will be a real steal to someone’s program on the college level.
2019 forward Isaac Okoro – McEachern (GA)/AOT Running Rebels (GA)
The AOT Running Rebels held their own this weekend in their home state going a perfect 4-0. The junior forward Isaac Okoro is a big reason why that is. Isaac is slowly improving his game offensively. We all know he is one of the best lock down defenders we have in the 2019 class. His offense does not coming from his shooting, but he is one of the few unstoppable guys when he has his eyes set on the rim. He is a vicious attacker and an aggressive finisher. His huge size helps him keep defenders off him and make him great when it comes to the physicality down low. Okoro has been displaying his talents this summer on the 2018 Nike EYBL and that has led his AOT squad to a 10-2 overall record so far through three sessions. Isaac certainly impressed this past weekend.
2019 center Babatunde Akingbola – McEachern (GA)/AOT Running Rebels (GA)
If we had to create an all EYBL sleepers team, this kid right here will be on that list for sure. If you have not heard of the name Babatunde Akingbola “aka” Stretch this spring yet, then you are really missing out on a talented guy. The Auburn commit standouts not from his scoring or amazing offensive game like most top prospects do, but his tremondous play on the defensive end of the ball, particularly inside the paint. Akingbola knows his role on his team and does it extremely well. He is an elite shot blocker and rim protector for AOT and has not just been opening eyes this weekend but the entire EYBL season. He has a great passion for the game and is determined to block the opposing teams shots. Stretch can also get you buckets on offense as well, which we seen this weekend with putback dunks or drop offs from his teammates. He is the most efficient when he is on the floor and was also a vocal leader this past weekend.
2020 wing Moses Moody – North Little Rock (AR)/Brad Beal Elite (MO)
As if the class of 2020 was not already loaded, check this kid out. Playing up in 17U EYBL circuit you would think the underclassmen would be a little shakened up playing with big boys, not for Moses Moody out of Arkansas. He is another scoring wing we have set in the 2020 class. Moses is a determined scorer and did that well with his Brad Beal Elite (MO) squad this past weekend in Atlanta. He can kill you from the outside knocking down his three’s and is a certified threat when he has the rock in his hands. Dangerous in transition, Moody was able to draw contact every single time and put pressure on the refs to make the foul call. Moses is not currently ranked in the ESPN top 25, but by the end of this summer, I am certain he will be put on that updated list once it increases to top 60.
2019 guard Justin Moore – DeMatha (MD)/Team Takeover (DC)
With all the star loaded talent on the undefeated Takeover (DC) team, recent Villanova commit Justin Moore was just one of the guys Takeover acquired who stood out to me this weekend. Justin began his EYBL Atlanta session with a 26 point performance against PSA Cardinals (NY) and connecting on several three pointers. He continued his efficent play into the next day as well as he was going up against the NY Rens. Moore is an efficient guard who came to play this weekend and to contiune his team’s winning streak. He is a score first combo guard that can certainly play the 1 or 2 positions. Coming off a great season with his DeMatha (MD) squad, Justin looks to contiune to have a great spring and summer with Team Takeover (DC) and that seems like it is going pretty good for him.
