Prospect Profile: Braedin Nowlin (2019 Dayton HS/Oregon Basketball Club)
At 5-foot-7, 150-pounds, Braelin Nowlin knows he has to compensate for his size on the basketball floor. It initially took some adjustment time, but the rising senior from Dayton is hitting a groove with his Oregon Basketball Club AAU squad this spring heading into the summer months.
“I feel like I’ve been playing pretty good,” Nowlin said. “In Seattle I didn’t perform very well as the physicality of the game really opened my eyes. But since then the games have been better for me. It’s been a good experience.”
As you might expect, Nowlin uses quickness to his advantage on the floor. He continues to work hard on his game as a point guard as he looks forward to the rest of the AAU circuit.
“JS (Nash) and all of the coaches (at Oregon Basketball Club) have really helped me develop as a player – I’ve really gotten better,” Nowlin said. “I want to keep on working on taking care of the ball and keeping my shot falling.”
Naturally Nowlin is hoping that college programs will like what they see and give him a chance at playing at the next level. “I’m happy really with getting a chance at any college program,” Nowlin said, noting that he’d be open to hearing from anyone from the NCAA to NAIA down to the JC level. “But I do like to play fast. It would be nice to go to a school that does that.”
Nowlin ranks as the #57 player in the PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2019 rankings.
