2019 Forwards : Off the Grid
Prep Hoops takes a look at some 2019 Off the Grid Forwards throughout the Palmetto State. These players could really look to make some noise in the future.
Chase Claxton – Legacy Early College – Team South Carolina (pictured on front)
Claxton will be ranked higher than his current #68 in the 2019 Palmetto State Class rankings when the new ones coming out later this month. Claxton is a extremely quick leaper off the floor and has a great knack for blocking shots at just 6’5. Claxton plays so much bigger than his size on the floor and can has the ability to knockdown the 8-10 footer.
Seth Rivers – Stall HS
Rivers showed great progress this season while at Stall Hs. Rivers 6’6 has good length and has good timing when it comes to blocking shots. Rivers finishes around the cup when given the opportunity. Unfortunately Rivers doesn’t seem to be playing AAU ball this spring with anyone. Rivers played AAU last summer with TMP 16.
DeAndre Bryan – Berkeley HS (Monck Corners)
Bryan 6’7 is a RAW TALENT. Bryan really runs the floor well with his long strides and great length. Prep Hoops first saw Bryan last spring playing with Charleston Strong (No longer playing) AAU team. Bryan needs to work on his back to basket game. Bryan plays on the same high school team as Ishan White and Trevur Smalls.
Ziohn Brown – Wilson HS – Carolina Wolves 17
Brown 6’5 forward is a tough minded kid and plays with a lot of energy on the floor. Brown started the AAU season with Big Shots South Carolina 17U before heading over to the Carolina Wolves 17. Brown should look to have a solid senior season for the Tigers with the graduation of several players for Head Coach Derrick McQueen. Brown rebounds the ball on both ends of the floor.
Reggie Harris Jr. – South Pointe HS – Fort Mill Knicks
Harris we had a chance to see during the NCAA Live Period twice in Spartanburg and Fort Mill, SC. Harris was very effective around the cup and didn’t play timid at all. Harris attends South Pointe HS (football powerhouse) but to our surprise doesn’t play football. Harris 6’7 could really be a sleeper this coming season for the Stallions.
