Big Shots Team United : South Carolina Players
Prep Hoops takes a look at some of the performances from players from the Palmetto State who played this weekend in the Big Shots Team United event at Nation Ford HS in Fort Mill, SC. I was also looking forward to seeing the South Carolina Playmakers but they seemed to bail out before the event.
John Butler (2021) – Christ Church (Greenville) – Team United EYBL 15U (pictured on front)
Butler 7’0 is coming along after first seeing him play last season in this event as a 8th grader then. Butler played his varsity basketball season for his father at Christ Church. Butler really likes to play out on the perimeter and has a soft touch to knock down the 3 ball. Butler blocked 6 shots today in the game we Prep Hoops took in.
Butler can really stretch out the defense with his shooting ability from the floor. Butler is the #1 ranked player in the 2021 Palmetto State Class by Prep Hoops.
Russell “RJ” Felton (2021) – North Augusta HS – Team United EYBL 15U
Felton looked to attack the basket all day long. Felton a power guard is a bit of a streaky shooter but hysically can really get to the basket. Felton averaged 12.7 ppg this past season for the Yellow Jackets. Prep Hoops first saw Felton last year playing with Upward Stars Riverfront on the AAU circuit.
Ian Thomson (2021) – Southside Christian (Simpsonville) – South Carolina Storm
Thomson 6’8 has a slender frame but moves extremely well on the floor and shows to have good footwork. Thomson saw action this season for the Sabres on the varsity level. Thomson keeps the ball up high in the paint and shows to have a soft touch on the foul line.
Perry Smith (2022) – Paul Knox M.S. (North Augusta) – Team United EYBL 15U
Smith 6’7 saw limited action today in the game we took in. Smith just a 8th grader currently at Paul Knox M.S. which feeds into North Augusta HS. Smith runs the floor well and showed some really good glimpses today.
Jordan Butler (2023) – Christ Church (Greenville) – Team United 14U
Yes Jordan is the brother of John and stands 6’3 already. Jordan is currently in 7th grade.
