Prep Hoops Series- Kansas City: Top Rebounders 17U
Here’s a look at some of the top rebounders of the weekend so far.
Cecil Lee (2018)- KC Pacers Blue 17U
Nobody crashes the offensive boards as hard as Cecil does, and he does so consistently. Sunday morning he had an incredible two handed tip slam against SSA Elite Black.
With his length and supreme athleticism, he is able to rebound outside of his area and creates many second chance opportunities.
Kael Kordonowy (2019)- River City Hoops Blue 17U
Kael has a big presence in the paint and with his strength to not get pushed out of position, he is generally able to get everything around the rim, both on offense and defense.
On multiple occasions this weekend Kael snatched an offensive board and went strong to the rim, converting on many dunks and great finishes at the rim.
Jevaughn Ferguson (2019)- Mokan Select 17U
Jevaughn is a motored up prospect who is effective on the boards due to his effort but also his muscular build that he uses to shield off opponents.
He has created second chance opportunities for Mokan, generally getting sent to the line. At 6’6” he is an undersized 5-man who is very comfortable and able to play on the block and with his back to the basket.
Caleb Glen (2019)- SSA Elite White 17U
Although Caleb is a little raw due to a lack of experience, he still showed flashes of being an effective prospect and rebounder. An undersized 5-man at 6’6”, Caleb was most effective limiting second chance opportunities through his defensive rebounding.
Blais Keita (2019)- KC Pacers Blue 17U
Blais is impossible to ignore due to size and strength in the middle. At 6’11” and with a solid frame on him, he has created matchup problems every game on the boards.
He positions himself very well on both sides of the glass and has not been outmatched in strength this weekend, making him a nightmare for opposing teams.
