Prep Hoops Series- Kansas City: Standout 17U Guards/Wings
There was a lot of talent on the perimeter this weekend. Here are a few standouts from Saturday that I was able to catch.
Courtland Soll (2019)- Mokan Select 17U
Courtland wreaked havoc against SSA Elite White today, having a huge first half with 15 points as Mokan essentially had the game won at halftime.
He was effective in the paint and was able to get there frequently either finishing at the rim or getting to the line.
Levi Braun (2019)- SSA Elite Black 17U
Levi had some success scoring the ball on Saturday in SSA’s first game of the day.
Levi is always a shooting threat from deep but also was able to penetrate the defense and get in the paint on Saturday.
He also showcased his ability to play either guard spot, oftentimes running the point when Savian was on the bench.
Keenan Miller(2019)- River City 17U
Keenan is an explosive athlete who has no problem finishing in transition or getting in the paint in a halfcourt set. He also showed that he can step out and shoot the ball at times as well.
He is also someone who used his athleticism to his advantage sticking his nose in the paint for rebounds and disrupting shots at the rim.
Ayris Abdelnassar (2019)- KC Premier 17U
Ayris was everywhere on Saturday. He banged an early three, had multiple buckets in transition, and knifed through the defense seemingly getting into the paint at will.
He was also active defensively as he showed good footwork and quick hands to be an all-around threat.
Savian Edwards (2019)- SSA Elite Black 17U
Don’t let his size fool you, Savian is explosive, athletic, and very good with the ball in his hands.
The scoring PG was in double figures in both games and helped lead the charge to a 2-0 record on the day. He ended with 17 points and 11 points respectively.
