2019 Wharton G Darin Green Jr. talks slew of offers, CP25 ball and more
So far this spring, 2019 guard Darin Green Jr. has been red hot.
Here on Tuesday, FIU, Buffalo and Arkansas State have extended offers to the Wharton guard. He earned offers from Furman and Elon on Monday while Austin Peay and USF have come in with offers since the live period started.
Green Jr. is now up to 11 offers with Northern Arizona, Cal State Fullerton, Rider and FGCU the others.
The 6’5″, 175-pounder says it finally feels like his hard work is paying off.
“I’m not going to stop working. It motivates me to keep pushing and be the best I can be. It definitely gives me confidence,” Green Jr. told Prep Hoops Florida. “I am humble, thankful and blessed to have these offers but I am looking for a school that is the best fit for me on the court and academically.”
He called his junior campaign a good as he learned to become a leader on a Wildcats group that reached the Class 8A region semifinal.
Green Jr. is spending his second summer with Team Parsons, where he’s drawn the attention of Division I college programs so far this spring.
“I love playing with this group of guys,” he said. “All 10 of us are very talented and each one of us brings something different to our team.”
He says his game has improved a lot since last year.
“My shot has become more efficient off the catch and off the dribble. And I definitely improved on defense. My defense isn’t as good as I want it to be but it has definitely gotten better.
A reliable shooter and pure scorer, Green Jr. is flourishing in his leadership role with Team Parsons 17U. At Wharton, he’s been the guy so that has helped his comfort level on the Adidas Circuit. Look for his stock to only rise from here on out as college coaches have finally taken notice in his scoring ability.
