Head Coach Chris Adams trucked the troops to Dallas and Indianapolis during the critical April LIVE periods.
Team Pharaoh Elite emerged from Indianapolis 2-2 after losses to Indiana Elite North and Nova Village-Alleyne. Wins over Next Level Ballers and Mid Ohio Pumas Elite paved the way to the Silver Title Game (boxscore below), within which IE North clipped Team Pharaoh Elite, 79-75.
“We finished 2-2 and lost in the Silver Bracket Championship Game,” said Pharaoh Elite Head Coach Chris Adams. “We won a Gold (Championship) last weekend in Dallas.”
Coach Adams boasted about 6-foot-4 sophomore Delvin White (PrepHoopsTN #19).
“He should be top ten in eh state in 2020,” said Coach Adams. “He is a point guard. They had him playing out of position (at Hamilton High).”
Shooter Jesse Payne (PrepHoopsTN #18) of Whitehaven is also considered a scoring weapon for Coach Adams’ AAU team.
The 5-foot-10 off-guard led TPE 16u in scoring with 19 points in the Silver Championship Sunday.
Payne dazzled all winter with Whitehaven High School. WHS Head Coach Faragi Phillips loved his sophomore class this season and even though lead sophomore Matthew Murrell missed the last month with an injury the 2020’s, Cameron Jones Cameron Jones 6'2" | SF Harding Academy | 2024 State TN (Jacksonville State signee) and Latrell Carter (Unsigned) all pushed Whitehaven to the Class AAA Title Game. Sadly, Memphis East downed the Tigers for a fourth time to capture the Class AAA Title in Penny Hardaway’s final game as a high school basketball coach for the foreseeable future.
Team Pharaoah Elite gets post production and stout defense from Omari Thomas.
“Our 6-foot-5 post Omari Thomas (PrepHoopsTn #71) from Briarcrest is a 5-star football player,” shared Coach Adams.

“We also have 6-foot-4 Jaylin Lucas from Bartlett and Isaiah Cathey (PrepHoopsTN #24) from Memphis East.”
Cathey did not see the floor much for the stacked 2017-2018 Memphis East team. He has the respect of Memphis-area players though.
“He is playing pretty good,” mentioned Coach Adams. “Yeah, he is playing pretty good.”
Forward Quintavious Bailey (PrepHoopsTN #39) started for Raleigh-Egypt in the early January ARS Rescue Rooter Penny National Hoopfest. Springy at 6-foot-4, Bailey generally plays the forward spot. He provides activity and grit on the glass.
The roster is very talented and incredibly quick, but Coach Adams knows specifically where his bread it buttered.
“We are lead by Jesse Payne, Delvin White, and Omari Thomas.”
