Breaking: Courtney Ramey commits to Texas
The No. 1 player in the state of Missouri is headed to the Lone Star State.
Webster Groves standout Courtney Ramey announced tonight that he would commit to the University of Texas and head coach Shaka Smart. Ramey made his announcement on a commitment video via his social media.
The 6’4″ Ramey cut his final list to four schools and he ultimately picked Texas over Missouri, Oklahoma State and Louisville. He had originally committed to Louisville in the fall, but opened his recruitment back up when former coach Rick Pitino was forced to step down.
Ramey finished his stellar career at Webster Groves by leading the Statesmen to back-to-back Class 5 state championships in 2017 and 2018. As a senior, he averaged 21.8 points, 6.7 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 1.4 steals while shooting 48 percent from the field and 39 percent from 3-point range. Ramey is now Webster Groves’ career leader in scoring and assists.
