Live Period II: Five Potential Offers
The second live period gets underway today and coaches are out and about like crazy trying to find their next player to offer a scholarship. Looking at those who picked up offers from the first live period, here are five names that could pick up offers following the second live period.
Jared Hankins – 6’4 / SG / 2019 / Lawrence North (IN) / Indiana Elite Fastbreak 2019
Quite a few coaches were in to see Fastbreak last week and Hankins is still looking for his first offer. Hopefully, the reports from last weekend were good and they could have their head coaches follow up this weekend before offering. A little surprised he doesn’t have one yet.
Cameron Alford – 6’0 / PG / 2019 / Brownsburg (IN) / Team Teague 2019
For the same reasons as Hankins in all honesty. Alford has been pretty good and he’s had enough schools peek in at him that I’m surprised someone hasn’t pulled the trigger yet. Might be a little less likely with Alford and Team Teague up in Minneapolis this weekend but still possible.
Jakobie Robinson – 6’7 / PF / 2019 / Warren Central (IN) / Indiana Elite Fastbreak 2019
Robinson was hurt last week and wasn’t able to play. Many coaches were interested in seeing the developing forward and might be able to get a peek at him this week in Indy as most schools around the country will be here in many capacities. He’s one the few power forward that could make a splash in this class.
D’Andre Davis – 6’4 / SG / 2020 / Lawrence Central (IN) / Indiana Elite 2020
The few 2020’s that are worthy of early offers have picked them up. Davis was a guy many LM and MM programs were intrigued with last weekend. Getting head coaches in to see them in Atlanta could be enough to make them comfortable and pull the trigger.
Jalen Blackmon – 5’10 / PG / 2021 / Marion (IN) / Indy Heat 2021
In the last 10 days, Caleb Furst and Khristian Lander picked up their first offers. Jalen Blackmon is logically next and after being in Omaha, Nebraska last weekend, they will be within a few miles of EYBL and should get some looks. Could be a little early but he’s definitely a guy to watch.
