The New Recruitment: 2018 PG Mark Freeman
Basketball recruiting fury creeps later and later every year. Most D1 players signed their college years away in November 10 years ago. A sprinkling of the top players waited until April Signing Period to make the ultimate decision. Largely because college transfers ballooned into popularity in the last five years the incoming players became less committed.
It doesn’t hurt that National Letters of Intent (NLI’s) lost meaning as college coaches, probably sensing a public opinion sea change, began letting players out of the binding contracts much easier. For example, Alex Lomax was released by Wichita State just last month.
All that leads to this.
Mark Freeman is no longer signed to LIU-Brooklyn and LIU-Brooklyn Head Coach Derek Kellogg. Freeman posted on Twitter that he will reclass to 2019.

Back in the unsteady arena of college recruiting, the 5-foot-10 Class AAA TSSAA Mr. Basketball Finalist scoring point guard plans to attract D1 offers once again.
He will run with Bluff City Legends this weekend in EYBL Indianapolis.
“Yessir, I am (playing) to get more offers,” shared Freeman with @PrepHoopsTN via direct message.
“And, yes I have gotten released.”
According to Bluff City Legends AAU, Freeman will prep for a single year before signing as a member of the Class of 2019.
