This is always an interesting time of year, as there are a lot of things going on during the live period. While the college coaches are finally able to attend AAU games, players are looking to make an impression in any way possible. With each week this spring, we are going to take a look at the latest recruiting news from DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
BREEDING TO WILKES
Osbourn ’18 forward Donovann Breeding committed to Wilkes last week. Breeding is a great get for them, and should be able to contribute right away.
MIKE BROWN TO MT. OLIVE
Handley ’18 guard Mike Brown committed to Mt. Olive last week. He was a standout on the grassroots circuit with EG Premiere last summer.
SHERWYN DEVONISH PICKS MORGAN STATE
Wise ’18 guard Sherwyn Devonish committed to Morgan State last week. The Bears should benefit immediately from his skill set, shot making and pure scoring ability.
FORMER NORTH POINT STAR COMMITS OT THE MOUNT
Jalen Gibbs has transferred from Drake to the Mount. This comes after the coaching change at his former school.
LINCOLN LANDS TERRENCE GIBBONS
Wise ’18 forward Terrence Gibbons committed to Lincoln last week. He is a great fit for the D2 level given his athleticism and size at close to 6-foot-7.
KRISHNAN TO CCSU
Proctor Academy ’18 guard Ian Krishnan committed to Central Connecticut State on Sunday. He will bring toughness on defense and shot making ability to the next level.
LAWSON TO THE MOUNT
Eastside ’18 post Luke Lawson committed to Mount St. Mary’s State las weekend. He was one of the best available players in the state, and a sleeper.
CATHOLIC GETTING A STEAL IN MULQUIN
Will Mulquin picked Catholic over Carnegie Mellon. Steve Howes is getting a hard worker who can stretch the floor consistently at 6’5.
OKAFOR TO LONGWOOD
Former Eleanor Roosevelt standout Gus Okafor committed to Longwood last week. This comes after a prep year at Massanutten.
ST. MARY’S SECURES SPOONER
St. John’s ’18 wing Zachary Spooner committed to St. Mary’s last week. He will be a great fit for that program.
WILL TURGEON COMMITS TO CATHOLIC
Gonzaga ’18 guard Will Turgeon committed to Catholic last week. This is the second get for Steve Howes from the WCAC this season, and a good one too.
