Circle City Shootout: 2020 Wing/Post Standouts
The second AAU weekend for Prep Hoops Indiana is complete and we got to see some really solid teams for the second weekend. Today, we being our breakdown by class of those prospects that stuck out to us. Next up are the wings and posts in the 2020 class.
Isaac Farah | 6’7 PF | IE Side 2019 | Cathedral HS (IN)
Farah is playing up with the 2019s this summer and he’s a big body inside for them. He is pretty mobile for a big man and is able to bang around inside with taller guys. He needs to slim down a little bit but overall he was good in the post. Needs to rebound the ball a little better, but other than that he is serviceable down low.
Noah Hupman | 6’10 C | DistinXion 2020 Black | Evansville Day HS (IN)
Hupman didn’t play much in the game but when he did he was pretty solid. Could be a lot better for a 6’10 kid but needs to learn how to play in his body. He knows where he needs to be but he isn’t quick enough to get there quite yet. Could be really good with some strength and more aggressiveness on the boards.
Keegan O’Neill | 6’8 PF | DistinXion 2020 Black | Barr-Reeve HS (IN)
O’neill is that big body that every college coach would love to have. A little on the heavy side right now, but should be able to do slim down pretty easily. He’s a strong kid who is really good when he gets the ball on the post. He can face up or back his man down along with a serviceable deep ball. He showed a really tight spin move along the baseline that led to multiple buckets.
Justin Fickling | 6’4 PF | DistinXion 2020 Black | South Knox HS (IN)
Ficking is a very athletic and agile forward who knows how to use his body to get around bigger players. He is a guy who can get it on the Blok and score. A heady player who rebounds the ball really well for his height. His lateral quickness is lacking a bit to play the three but he could be able to if needed. A versatile piece.
Kadaphi Honaker | 6’3 SF | Hoop Dreams – Bowles | Park Tudor HS (IN)
Honaker didn’t play that much in this game but he did look pretty solid when he was in. His shot looked a lot better than it has in the past and he was able to get himself open and was moving much more without the ball than he did in high school. He was playing really solid post defense too. A good first look at him this summer.
