Prep Hoops Missouri Mr. Basketball: Courtney Ramey
Webster Groves star Courtney Ramey has been named the Prep Hoops Missouri Mr. Basketball award winner in 2018.
The talented guard concluded a spectacular career by leading the Statesmen to its second consecutive Class 5 state championship. He also finished his career with several school records, including scoring and assists.
As a senior, Ramey averaged 21.8 points, 6.7 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 1.4 steals while shooting 48 percent from the field and 39 percent from the free throw line. He was also a dominant defensive player who can lock in on the opposing team’s top offensive player. In the state championship game against Chaminade, Ramey had 27 points, six rebounds and three assists while making all 11 of his free throws in the Statesmen’s 101-90 victory.
The 6’4″ Ramey finished his career as the No. 1 scorer in Webster Groves history with 1,838 points and top passer in school history with 521 assists. He also accumulated 741 rebounds, 251 steals and 163 made 3-pointers.
Ramey is still unsigned as he continue to weigh offers from several top Division I programs around the country.
