Top Rebounders from the Southern Brawl
The Southern Brawl featured several players that made rebounding a big emphasis in their games this weekend. Get a look at the best I saw.
James Clayton Felton 2019 Colorado United Forward
Felton was great rebounding the ball with his length, size, and energy. Standing at 6’7 with a good frame makes him a matchup problem for opponents especially when you consider his quickness. He will find a small college home because of the energy he brings on the boards.
Mason Stokes 2022 Ferguson Elite Post
Stokes was fantastic on the boards throughout the tournament for Ferguson Elite. He is strong and physical inside and not afraid to bang down low. Stokes will be one to keep an eye on to see how he progresses over his four years of high school.
Quentin Harvey 2019 Ball 4 Life Wing
Harvey gave outstanding energy throughout the weekend on the boards. The 6’4 Wing uses his effort and athleticism to bring down rebounds. He is a rising 2019 small college prospect with his frame, effort and skill level.
Miles Monical 2019 Oklahoma Playmaker Express Forward
Monical surprised me with how quick he was at 6’4 with a good size frame. The energy he brought to the floor mixed with toughness led to him rebounding the ball well. He goes after the ball hard with every intention of bringing it down with him. Monical projects to the small college level.
Cyson Mathis 2020 Rockets 918 Forward
Mathis is a bundle of small college potential at the Forward spot. He moves fluidly on the court at 6’5. The hops Mathis has allow him to sky for boards snatching them away before an opponent has the chance. The motor of Mathis is what makes him a good rebounder.
Deshaun English 2018 Victory Ministry Forward
English did not have his best scoring output in the game I watched him play however he was effective for Victory Ministry at the Forward spot because of his ability to rebound the basketball at a high level.
Kingzavier Galberth 2018 Colorado Hawks USS Post
Galberth is a long lanky 6’7 Forward that gave opponents fits. Strength is an area of weakness for Galberth, however, the effort he puts out makes up for what he lacks in strength. Galberth skied for boards using his great length and athleticism to dominate inside. He projects to the JUCO level where I feel like he could turn into a prospect that opens some eyes with added strength and development.
