2019 Darin Green Jr. shines Friday Night in D.C. at the Adidas Gauntlet
One of the top overall performances at the opening night of the live period at the Adidas Gauntlet in Washington D.C., came from 2019, Darrin Green Jr, of Team CP25. Green finished with 15 points, 3 assists and 2 rebounds. Green is a natural scorer that has the capability of lighting up the stat sheet in a hurry. He is known for his shooting and that was fully on display Friday night. He is coming off a successful junior season and he broke down that down with us.
“This season I averaged 22 points per game and led the team in rebounding. I was just trying to lead my team to a state championship but unfortunately we fell a little short in the regional semifinals but overall it was good.”
With his ability to move with and without the ball on offense and his shooting capabilities, a number of schools are taking notice. Three days ago, he received an offer from South Florida, “They are literally 15 minutes away from my house in Tampa, Florida. They have been on me since 9th grade.”
He also has offers from California State Fullerton, Rider, Florida Gulf Coast and Northern Arizona. He has been gaining some high major attraction as he told us he is receiving interest from, “Florida State, Florida, Georgia and George Washington. He broke down the schools he holds offers from for us.
Florida Gulf Coast: “They recently just lost their head coach but one of the coaches that was really recruiting me hard is now the head coach, so that is actually working out well.”
Rider: “They were actually texting me right before this game and they are real good people.”
California State Fullerton: “They were actually my first offer so those guys are really cool over there and I have actually taken an unofficial visit out there in California.”
Northern Arizona: “The coach that actually offered me and was heavily recruiting me, left, but I am still in contact with Coach Murphy, the head coach and all those guys over there.”
