Kansas forwards to watch this offseason (2019)
Bigs
Here, Prep Hoops Kansas takes a look at several players who are likely to raise their profile on the college recruiting trail in the upcoming months.
Matthew Chapman, 6’7, F, 2019, Blue Valley Northwest
With the graduation of Parker Braun and Joe Pleasant, Chapman could absorb a big role with the state champion Huskies next season. He runs the floor quite well, is a strong post defender and rebounder and works hard.
Trey Duffey, 6’6, F, 2019, Seaman, SSA Elite
Duffey is an old-school, all-fundamentals type big who does a lot of things exceptionally well. He has good footwork, scores on the block, rebounds and can shoot from the outside a little and is a terrific passer.
Jarrett Hensley, 6’7, F, 2019, Shawnee Mission North, MoKan
An athletic forward, Hensley can play above the rim at both ends of the floor, capable of throwing down dunks, blocking shots, or stepping out to the perimeter. He can handle the ball, attack the basket off the bounce and has a smooth 3-point shot.
Siler Tschirhart, 6’8, PF, 2019, Blue Valley, KC Spurs
Tschirhart has established himself as one of the top big men in the state of Kansas as he puts together another big season for Blue Valley. A strong, physical 6’8 2019 post, Tschirhart is an aggressive player who plays well within the team concept and is a strong defensive player and rebounder. He is a terrific post-up player who looks to put the ball in the basket. Also a football standout, Tschirhart has drawn significant college interest already.
Ethan Vlasic, 6’7, F, 2019, Blue Valley North, KC Spurs
Vlasic is all arms and legs with a long, rangy frame and an emerging skill set. He runs the floor like a deer, is a good shot blocker and defender and has a smooth mid-range shot out to 17 feet. He worked his way into the BVN line-up at times last season and showed some promise for a big man.
