Recruiting Report: Nate Santos (2020)
Geneva’s Nate Santos is a long and rangy 6’6” small forward that is from Geneva. The 2020 wing is a projectable wing with size, length, and athleticism. Smooth handling the ball both in transition and the half court. Hits jumpers from all over the floor with a clean looking stroke that he gets off with relative ease. Strong takes to the hoop where he either finishes at the rim or gets fouled. Skilled offensive threat that presents upside. Mid-major prospect.
He spoke with PHI about his sophomore campaign at Geneva.
“My year went pretty well. Last year we were loaded with a bunch of seniors and started off 26-0, but this year we were pretty young with the majority being juniors. I was pulled up and we made it to the regional championship, but lost to Naperville North. I think overall it well with us being so young. I think I fit in well with my teammates, moved the ball, and played in the system. I improved in my ball screen action and being patient and working with my big man.”
How would he best describe his game?
“I feel like am a pretty smooth guard on the wing. I feel like I am big for my position. I just need to get stronger. I can handle, pass, and shoot the ball.”
Several high-majors have shown early interest.
“My recruiting is doing well. I have heard from Creighton, TCU, Mizzou, Iowa, and a couple others.”
Creighton extended a scholarship offer to him right before the start of the live period. Santos plays with Chicago Elite 16U on the circuit.
