Prospect Spotlight: Kobe Bufkin (2021)
For high school basketball fans and coaches, Kobe Bufkin is a name to remember. His freshman season at Grand Rapids Christian has ended, but his game continues to grow. Bufkin possesses an amazing amount of talent and skills. He should be on college coaches radars immediately. Bufkin is playing AAU basketball with UTS Elite 15u.
Kobe Bufkin is a 6’2” shooting guard from the class of 2021. He is a long and athletic player with a great skill set. Bufkin can get to the basket and finish. He can also keep his teammates involved. Bufkin is a high motor player who will make hustle plays. He is working to improve his ball handling, his shot, and his defense. Bufkin is already showing improvement in these areas while playing with UTS Elite.
Kobe Bufkin has a wealth of experience for his age. He played varsity basketball as a freshman this past season. Bufkin is eagerly anticipating playing in the Phenom 150 and the Fab 48. This AAU season, his goal is clear: Get his first offer. This could very well happen seeing as he can provide a program at the next level with a versatile player who can be used successfully in multiple ways.
It’s impressive when a young man has plans for his future. Bufkin has his sights set on Division 1 college basketball and the NBA. Off the court, he wants to go into business so he can learn how to run his own training business. Kobe Bufkin is motivated to be successful. “My Dad is probably my biggest motive off the court and my mom is my greatest on the court because she always tells me “play like the world is watching” and that’s what I try to do,” he said.
While there is currently no recruiting news, it’s just a matter of time. Bufkin has the work ethic and skill set of a next level basketball player.
