Big Shots Columbia : 2019 Standouts
Darius Boatwright – Dillon HS – Big Shots South Carolina (pictured on front)
Boatwright 6’7 is a long and rangy small forward. Boatwright tends to roam the perimeter and likes to shoot a lot of perimeter jumpers. Boatwright needs to turn up the motor at times and play hard at all times. The talent is here but Boatwright at times needs to figure it out.
Josiah James – Porter Gaud – TMP 17U
James 6’6 is the cream of the crop in the 2019 class here in the Palmetto State. James is so crafty with the ball and extremely effective on the floor. James never seems to be rushed and always under control. James fresh off a 3rd straight SCISA State Championship has everyone under the sun recruiting him for next season.
Ishan White – Berkeley HS (Moncks Corner) – TMP 17U
White 6’6 is a jumping jack that really likes to stalk the baseline. Prep Hoops and Swanny’s Roundball first saw him play a few seasons back with a local AAU team. White has finally figured out he needs to play out on the circuit with a talented team like TMP . White has the ability to hit the 10-12 footer and really excels in the transition game.
White averaged 11.2 ppg and 9.8 rebounds this season for the (20-3) Stags.
Ziohn Brown – Wilson HS (Florence) – Big Shots South Carolina
Brown had a bit of a coming out party here for Big Shots South Carolina. Brown 6’5 rebounded the ball well on both sides of the floor and played bigger than his size in the paint. Brown has a blue collar mindset on the floor and isn’t afraid to draw contact in the paint.
Donnell Bowens – Lowcountry Leadership (Hollywood) – Port City Stars 17U
Bowens 5’11 helped the Port City Stars 17U to a 2-1 record on the weekend. Bowens played under control at the point guard spot and was able to knockdown some perimeter shots in return. Bowens averaged 13 ppg and 4.1 assists for his high school team.
