Big Shots Columbia : Playmakers on the Floor
Prep Hoops takes a look at some of the top Playmakers from this weekend at Heathwood Hall where Big Shots was hosting a event.
Josiah James (2019) – Porter Gaud – TMP 17U (pictured on front)
James 6’6 point guard has several schools recruiting him for his services. Clemson, Texas, Virginia, Kentucky, Duke, Florida, Florida State, South Carolina and Stanford are just a few in line to recruit James. James averaged 10.4 ppg and 6 assists this past season for the SCISA 3A State Champions. James went over 1,000 career points earlier this season and helped the Cyclones to 3-peat back in February in Sumter.
Denham Wojcik (2021) – Porter Gaud – TMP 17U
Wojcik will be just a sophomore next season plays so poised beyond his years. Wojcik is quite crafty with the ball and reads defenses like a coach’s son. Wojcik who is the son of former College of Charleston Head Coach Doug Wojcik will patrol the back court with James this coming season. Wojcik has already been part of 2 state championships for the Cyclones.
Jordan Jones (2020) – Trinity Byrnes (Darlington) – Carolina Dream Team
Jones a left-handed guard was moonlighting this weekend with the Carolina Dream Team. Jones helped Trinity Byrnes get to the SCISA 2A State Championship Game. The Titans lost to eventual 3-time state champion Zion Williamson and the Spartanburg Day School Griffins. Jones will play with Manzer 17U when he is not playing with the Carolina Dream Team.
Jones quarterbacked the Titans (12-2) to a football state championship last fall after transferring over from South Florence HS. The Titans lost to First Baptist and running back Michel Dukes 35-20. Jones averaged 13.8 ppg this season for the (25-6) Titans on the hardwood.
Xavier Legette (2019) – Mullins HS – Big Shots South Carolina 17U
Legette 6’4 has uncanny passing ability at times. Prep Hoops and Swanny’s Roundball Review has seen him play over the past 3 years when he first put on a Auctioneer jersey. Legette left-handed has the ability to see over smaller guards and is still figuring out what type of play he can be on the hardwood. Legette plays wide receiver on the football field.
