2020 Rankings Update: Top Posts
Now that the class of 2020 has completed their Sophomore seasons, they are about to embark on the huge spring and summers as they get ready to hit the AAU circuit. There are actually more 3200quality posts in the 2020 class than in the typical Kentucky group. Several have D1 potential but have to turn potential into production. Here’s a look at the top post players in the newly updated 2020 rankings:
Ksuan Casey, Madisonville-North Hopkins – The top ranked player in the class, Ksuan has all the skills and size to be a high major level college recruit. Right now Ksuan is walking around at nearly 300 pounds. If he can get to 260 or less, his ceiling becomes much higher as a college prospect. He’ll be playing his 16u AAU season with Tennessee based We All Can Go.
Ray Surratt, Lafayette – Ray is pushing 6’10 already and may not be done growing. After some growth spurts, Ray’s body is still growing. Surratt needs to add muscle and improve his foot speed if he wants to be a college player. Big Ray will spend his spring and summer anchoring the CKY Magic squad coached by Eric Morton.
Riley Bodner, Lincoln County – Rodner is a 6’8 shot blocker and two handed rebounder who is improving as an offensive player with his back to the basket. Riley has drawn comparisons to current Ball State Center Trey Moses with his ability to stretch the floor with his shooting. Riley can be found playing with M.A.T.T.S. Mustangs 16u this AAU season.
Michael Mayer, Covington Catholic – Mayer had a small role for the state champion Colonels and will see expanded production next season. Mayer’s future is on the gridiron as he holds football offers from the highest of the high majors like Alabama, Notre Dame and others. He plays AAU with Indiana Elite and could be a Division 1 basketball recruit if he chose to go that route.
Mark Goode, LaRue County – Armed with a big, strong body and big time post skill, Goode should be a college recruit at the D2 and low D1 level. Choosing not to play AAU will surely hurt his exposure but Goode is one of the best in the state at scoring with his back to the basket. Goode is also capable of pulling a rebound and firing an outlet pass to lead the break. Coaches from local schools like Lindsey Wilson and Campbellsville should be frequenting the gym at LaRue County and checking Goode out.00
