Adidas Invitational (Class of 2020 Wings)
Here is a look at some of the top Class of 2020 wings at last weekend’s Adidas Invitational:
Isaac Spears 6’4″ Gateway: A very talented and skilled wing with a good blend of size and versatile offensive ability. He displayed three-level scoring ability throughout the weekend, including a game in which he made five 3-pointers. He has smooth handles and has a tough hesitation move the freezes defenders in their tracks. It was my first time watching him and was very impressed. His father Dallas Spears is a former Hazelwooe East standout, who is 6’8′.
Malik Green 6’2″ Gateway (IL): Strong two-way guard who helped lead his team to the championship of the 16U Division. He has good size and toughness to go along with a very good skill set. He is a solid ball handler who can attack the basket and finish at the rim or knock down pull up jumpers.
Sebastion Ivory 6’0″ Gateway (IL): Young guard who provided instant offense for a team that won the 16U championship. He displayed the ability to score in bunches, especially when it came to knocking down 3-pointers. He’s quick and plays well in a fast paced game.
Jaden Snodgrass 6’2″ Gateway: Young guard from Springfield, IL who came off the bench to provide an excellent offensive spark. He has solid handles and knows how to get where he wants to go off the dribble, plus he is strong with the basketball. He also knocked down a number of 3-pointers off the catch.
Xavier Drummond 6’4″ Arsenal Hoops: An active wing with good size and a high motor who gets a lot done because he is always on the move. He is a versatile scorer who will attack the rim on drives, run in transition or hit the offensive boards for additional buckets. He is also a willing defender who will take on the challenge of playing a strong scoring threat.
Samuel Bledsoe 6’1″ Charleston: Excellent 3-point shooter who can really stretch the floor for his teammates, who were adept at attacking the basket off the dribble. He has confidence in his shooting when he gets a good look. He moves well without the ball to make himself available.
Blake McKay 6’2′ Illinois Bears: One of the top perimeter shooters that I watched during the weekend, the smooth lefty was lighting it up from long distance in the two games I saw him. He could really stretch the floor with his ability to shoot it off the catch from deep. He also put it on the floor and dropped some nice dimes to open teammates off the dribble.
