Kansas players to watch this offseason (2020)
Here, Prep Hoops Kansas takes a look at several players who are likely to raise their profile on the college recruiting trail in the upcoming months.
Xavier Bell, 6’4, G, 2020, Andover Central
Bell is playing his first season with MoKan Elite 16U squad this spring and brings a well rounded game to the floor. He can handle the point guard duties, brings terrific size and athleticism to the court, but is also capable of banging inside, getting on the boards and defending multiple spots. He has raised his profile as much as any player in the class over the past several months.
Gavyn Elkamil, 6’3, G, 2020, Pittsburg
Elkamil has terrific size and is among the state’s top shooting guard prospects as he is able to create off the bounce, light it up from long distance and has the size and the athleticism to defend opposing wing players. He is running with Team Griffin this season, a squad that features several talented young players.
Tanner Mans, 6’5, F/G, 2020, Bishop Carroll
There might not be a more well-rounded young player in Kansas than Mans who does a little bit of everything at a high level. He is a terrific shooter, has good size and length, can play inside or outside and moves incredibly well off the ball, working well within the pass and cut offense that Bishop Carroll run to perfection this past season. He is playing with Pray N Play this offseason, a squad that features some of the best young players in the Wichita area.
KT Raimey, 6’3, G, 2020, Olathe East
There aren’t many guards with a higher upside in the Kansas area and is coming off a season in which he averagaed nearly 16 points, 4.5 assists and 4 rebounds per game while shooting 45 percent from the field and 40 percent from 3 point range. Raimey is capable of running a team at the point, or playing off the ball at the 2 where he shows terrific form and balance as a perimeter shooter. He is running with KC Run GMC this offseason and the sky is the limit.
Shawn Warrior, 6’1, G, 2020, Wichita Southeast
Warrior is off to a great start competing this spring for Kansas Pray N Play and combines terrific length, athleticism and an improving all-around skill set for a wing player. Warrior is coming off a strong season with Wichita Southeast, averaging nearly 13 points and seven rebounds per game. Warrior and Micah Jacques, among others, are likely the heir apparent to replace the leadership of Weber State recruit Israel Barnes, who graduates.
