The Sophomore All State Team (ND)
If you wanted the state tournament this year at both the Class A and Class B levels you saw sophomores making a huge impact. Here is our Sophomore All State Team.
First Team
Carson Henningsard of Hillsboro/Central Valley. A first team all state player, Carson led his team to the state championship leading the team in several categories as a part of a back to back champ.
Elijah Klein of Mandan. Elijah was a double-double machine at times and averaged 15 points and nine rebounds a game making 62 percent of his shots on his way to All WDA and all state honors.
Boden Skunberg of Jamestown. Boden scored 14 points a game with six rebounds a contest hearing all WDA honors as an underclassmen.
Trace Goven of Rugby. Goven scored 17 plus points per game for a 17 win team while shooting above 50 percent from the floor.
Seth Nelson of Carrington. Scored nearly 20 points per game at the guard spot helping Carrington to a 23-4 season that included the state tournament.
Jaden Mitzel of Shiloh Christian. Led his team to the state tournament while scoring 13 a game while being second in boards. Excellent performance at state.
Second Team
Cade Feeney of Century. Cade led the state champions in steals, was third in assists, and scored just under nine points a game.
Cole Hage of Fargo Davies. Hage put up a dozen points a game with six rebounds shooting 47 percent from the floor and being one of the best offensive rebounders in the league.
Andre Carrier of Cavalier. All Region performer went down in early March but this was after a great year leading his team in scoring and rebounding.
Jaxon Gunville of Minot. A three point weapon that scored 10.5 points per game shooting 48 percent form the arc on his 4-5 threes a game.
Jonah Larson of Garrison. The top scorer and top player for a 16-6 team Jonah was also named all region.
Third Team
Brady Dvorak of GRFF. One of the top players in the league in assists Brady averaged almost six a game plus over seven points a night.
Devin Mikell of Minot. Led the Magicians in rebounding but there was nothing magical for his seven a game, it was fight. 8.3ppg too.
Avery Thorsgard of Hatton-Northwood. All region player that led his team to 17 wins.
Riley Hodgkiss of Standing Rock. Made a great pair with Rhias Archambault leading the team to a 16 win season.
Tyler Terhark of WF Sheyenne. Tyler scored eight points a game with five rebounds consistently for one of the best teams in state.
Fourth Team
Bradley Defender of St. John. Scored over seven points with five rebounds a game on one of the elite Class B teams.
Blake Berg of WF Sheyenne. Blake scored over seven a contest for the state tournament runner-up.
Carson Critchley of Fargo North. With over 75 percent of his shots coming at the arc Carson scored over nine a game and hit 37 percent of those threes.
Dante Gunville of Des Lacs Burlington. Scored in double figures regularly for a 16 win team.
Talon Hoffer of Shanley. Was in the rotation of a team that made a great run and Talon offered six points and reliant play.
Fifth Team
Gage Swanson of Beach. A tough big around the basket that was named all Region while helping his team to 15 wins.
Bryce Enerson of GFRR. Bryce averaged seven points and six rebounds as a sophomore.
Canden Tandeski of Benson County. Scored ten points a game with seven rebounds, and four assists. A nice all round season.
Paul Thiele of Warwick. Scored 15 points a game with nine rebounds a night.
Isaac Doll of Hazen. Talented sophomore that puts up good numbers for a struggling team.
