Roster Breakdown: This group of talent for UA Grind has a lot of upside in it. While they don’t have that high-major talent, they have guys that could develop into it by the end of the summer. Sam Devault already has a handful of Low-Major offers, as does Luke Bumbalough while De’Sean Allen-Eikens and Aaron Etherington are looking at Mid-Majors. This group has size and tons of skill. Allen-Eikens and Sam Devault, at 6’6 and 6’8, can really stretch the floor. Luke Bumbalough, Zach Kuhn, and Drew Comer will be able to provide shooting and as long as one of them gets hot during the game, this team should provide quite a bit of offense. With their skilled forwards, they should be able to play up and down as well.
Guy You Have To Watch: Luke Bumbalough (New Castle)
Right now, Bumbalough is playing the best ball of his life. He’s really shooting the ball well and he has quite a bit of flair to his game. With this kind of confidence, you have to give him a look. He’s not going to be a guy that is always the top scorer on the team, but most likely will be the most consistent and impactful this summer.
Best Bet To End Up Breaking Out: Sam Devault (Evansville Memorial)
When looking at this group, the player that stands out the most is Devault in terms of possibility to breakout. Right now, he only has a handful of Low-Major offers but with his size, his skill, and being on a program like this, he should be able to draw in a new level of talent. Not so much because what he is doing is new, but it is going to be a little more refined like we saw during the season. He’s also playing more with the ball in his hands and making plays. Putting that on the UA Association should be a good draw.
Who Should Be Watching: HM-NAIA
There are numerous players on this roster that already have DI offers, many more that will get there first. However, there are some that will end up in the NAIA and DII levels more than likely. The wide range of talent will allow many colleges to take a look and should help with exposure for all of them.
