College Tracking: Class of 2015
Now that the college basketball season has finally come to an end, let’s recap who stood out from Georgia’s class of 2015:
Bryce Brown (Tucker – Auburn)– Bryce Brown (pictured) played the best basketball yet of his college career. Brown was named first-team all SEC and was in discussion for SEC player of the year. Auburn advanced to play in the NCAA Tournament as Brown led the way averaging 16 points per game.
Kareem Brewton (Shiloh – Memphis)– Brewton made a significant difference this year for the Memphis Tigers after spending a year at Eastern Florida State JUCO. He hit a game-winning shot against Temple and another against Tulsa in the conference tournament. Brewton ended up averaging 9 points, 2 assists, and 3 rebounds this season.
Kyvon Davenport (East Hall – Memphis)– Davenport, who transferred from junior college like his teammate Brewton, had a solid year at Memphis averaging 13 points and 6 rebounds per game. He was named to the AAC all-tournament team and led his team in rebounds.
Tyrell Johnson (Stephenson – Appalachian State)– The 6’8 forward from Stone Mountain averaged 7 points and 4 rebounds for Appalachian State. He led the team in blocks this season.
Kevon Harris (MLK – Stephen F. Austin)– Harris led his team the 14th seed in this year’s NCAA Tournament. He was Stephen F. Austin’s second leading scorer at 14 points to go along with 5 rebounds per game. He was awarded player of the week for his conference in the first week of the season.
Devontae Cacok (Alpharetta – UNC Wilmington)– Cacok averaged an astounding 18 points and 13 rebounds for UNC Wilmington this season. The junior was named as a Third-Team All-American by SB Nation. He was also named CAA Defensive Player of the year and First-Team All-CAA.
Derek Ogbeide (Pebblebrook – Georgia)– The Pebblebrook product started every game for the Georgia Bulldogs this season and averaged 7 points and 6 rebounds. He scored a career high 18 points against Kentucky.
Tookie Brown (Morgan County – Georgia Southern)– The Morgan County native averaged 19 points, 4 assists, and 2 steals per game for Georgia Southern and was named First-Team All-Sun Belt for the third consecutive season. As of last week, Brown has entered his name in the NBA Draft.
Montae Glenn (Carrollton – Georgia Southern)– Glenn, Brown’s partner in crime, averaged 9 points and 8 rebounds per game this year for Georgia Southern. He was unable to play in the Sun Belt Tournament due to injury.
Don Coleman (Butler – California)– The Lawson State JUCO product averaged a team-high 14 points per game for the California Bears, including a 35 point performance against Wichita State. He has announced that he plans on transferring at the end of the season.
