Spring Recruiting Roundup: Offers, Commits, Visits & More
This is always an interesting time of year, as there are a lot of things going on before the live period. While the college coaches are in their offices trying to make key decisions, players are back in their home gyms getting better with their grassroots teams. With each week this spring, we are going to take a look at the latest recruiting news from DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
BRYCE GOLDEN DOWN TO SIX
Currently the top available prospect in the DMV, Bryce Golden has narrowed down his recruitment to Georgetown, Syracuse, Illinois, UConn, and Wichita State, per his coach. The former Pittsburgh commit expects to reduce this list further and schedule official visits this week.
DEVON FLOWERS REOPENS RECRUITMENT
Given the coaching change at Loyola (MD), Potomac School ’18 forward Devon Flowers has decided to repoen his recruitment. The 6-foot-8 senior is receiving interest from James Madison, College of Charleston, American, Coastal Carolina, Robert Morris, UMBC, UMass, Delaware, and Saint Joseph’s

Casey Morsell, considered a top priority recruit for UVA, committed to Head Coach Tony Bennett and staff last week. Houston Wilson did a great job covering this here.
VOYLES, WADE ASK FOR RELEASES
Decatur ’18 guard Kevon Voyles has asked for his release from UMES, while Miller School ’18 guard DeShaun Wade asked for his release from ECU. Both guards are proven winners who can help a college program right away.
RECRUITMENT HEATING UP FOR ANT HARRIS
Paul VI ’19 guard Anthony Harris received offers from Florida State, Georgia Tech, and Cincinnati last week. The Team Takeover standout had in home visits with Cincinnati and Virginia Tech. Louisville and Ohio State are among the other schools that have offered recently.
JUSTIN MOORE NEXT TO COMMIT?
We hear that DeMatha ’19 guard Justin Moore could be the next 2019 Team Takeover product to commit. Villanova seems like a great fit here, but don’t count out Notre Dame either.
RYAN DAVIS TO MILLERSVILLE
Glenelg ’18 forward Ryan Davis committed to Millersville. Wheeling Jesuit also offered the MD3d standout last week.
OLADAPO, LINDO PREP INTO 2019
Bladensburg’s Daniel Oladapo and Woodrow Wilson’s Ricky Lindo will both be running with DC Premier this spring. Lindo will prep at Northfield Mount Hermon in New Hampshire while Oladapo is still undecided on where he will attend prep school.
WESTFIELD STAR COMMITS TO SPIDERS
Westfield ’16 guard Blake Francis committed to Richmond on Monday. St. Bonaventure, Loyola Chicago, College of Charleston, North Texas & Towson were also involved for 17 point scorer during his sophomore season at Wagner.
NEW OFFERS/KNOWN VISITS
Boys’ Latin ’18 wing Jaylin Andrews received an offer from Loyola (MD).
Cameron Brown (Eleanor Roosevelt ’19) received an offer from NJIT.
Lehigh was in for Team Thrill wing Chase Drew (Gilman ’19).
Team Melo guard Jay Heath (Woodrow Wilson ’19) received an offer from Boston College.
Team Melo guard Johnathan McGriff took an unofficial visit to Rutgers last weekend.
Lehigh was in for Team Melo guard Jalen Rucker (Gilman ’19), who took an unofficial there Sunday.
6th Man Warriors wing Kamari Williams (St. Andrew’s ’19) received an offer from UNC Greensboro.
Saint James ’18 forward Dima Zdor received offers from Coastal Carolina and Austin Peay while Utah State’s New Head Coach Craig Smith reconfirmed his offer.
